Emma Clare Barrasso

Emma Clare Barrasso, Founder & Editor-In-Chief

As an aspiring professional journalist, Emma Clare has a passion for storytelling. From worldwide news to pop culture and music, she finds inspiration in the world around her and intertwines it with each story.

By running her own blog, For The Love of Music, publishing on TeenInk, dabbling in broadcasting, meeting with a Rolling Stone senior writer, and reading every article she can find, she’s quickly become devoted friends with the journalism world.

Still, she wanted to bring her love of reporting to Laurel Springs and see other young writers like her have the opportunity to collaborate and create. The future journalists needed a place to hone their skills and engage with the social community.

That’s when Emma Clare decided to begin the process of founding the LSS Newspaper.

After two years of planning and determination, she is of utmost pride to bring The Lion’s Den to the students and staff of this incredible school through a website format. On a staff of like-minded individuals who possess an identical amount of devotion and proficiency, she sees an especially bright future for the paper.

With this newspaper, Emma Clare hopes to inform, inspire, and cultivate more unity in the Laurel Springs student body. She also hopes to provide a welcoming space for the reporters of tomorrow.

Her most notable and humorous journalism memory is asking for a subscription to The New Yorker for Christmas.
