“If you want to change the world, pick up your pen and write” – Martin Luther
(Quote courtesy of Benjamin Frost)
Here at The Lion’s Den, we all recognize the importance of writing. This common understanding brought us all together and allowed us to create something to bring the student body and staff of Laurel Springs School together.
In the summer of 2022 as a rising freshman at Laurel Springs School and a budding writer looking for a place to publish, I noticed that something was missing from the lively social community, offering an abundant amount of events and clubs. I realized that the student journalists needed a news publication to share their work and report on issues that mean something to them.
After a year of convincing, presenting, and planning, The Lion’s Den began publication in 2023 as a monthly newsletter. Our virtual newsroom was occupied, and lasting friendships were born between a motivated group of scholars who sought to bring the power of the press to LSS.
Now, in 2024, our goal of running our own website has been met, and our stories will be told and archived in one place.
It is an absolute pleasure to officially welcome you to The Lion’s Den.
Thank you for reading,
