The wind is not my friend
she once whispered that she’d always have my back
always be there to catch me if i fall
but her lies are like a lemon on a sunny day
sweet until they turn sour
I have hopes, she crushed them
I have dreams, she burned them
I have love she doesn’t deserve
I see that wind, that damned eternal wind
I had so much
I had glory, fame, wealth, love
Yet the wind stripped it away like it stripped the grass from the earth
Now I end this wind and take back
The wooded path closes like book
trapping me
trapping me
trapping me
The wind has called upon her friends
the land
the sea
but she’ll never find me
For I shall not run
I shall not hide
I will race into the sky
Blade in hand, I shall fly into the sun
I may be in solitude, I may be with many
But I shall take my flesh and soul
And I shall strike down the very wind that took all from me
For eternity
Every night I die just a little
But that fire inside will not rest
I shall take my fire and I shall strike down the wind
I shall defy nature
I shall defy time
And if I must, I will defy god
But I am not the first on this path
I will not be the last
